Iziko Lobomi is a community center established in 1994 by the Hout Bay Christian Community Association (HBCCA). This non-profit organization is located in Imizamo Yethu Township. He implements various sustainable development projects within the community. A devastating fire on the night of Saturday, February 7, 2004, caused by a paraffin stove accident, burned more than 350 homes, leaving more than 3,000 people homeless. The fire was aggravated and fueled by a strong wind that spread so quickly that many residents only had time to flee their homes, unable to save their belongings and belongings. Despite the intervention of the emergency services and the reconstruction project of the Cape Town municipality, many residents of Imizamo Yethu are still living in deplorable conditions to this day.
